Phoenix, AZ. With the worst of the recession over, RV dealers are looking for ways to tap into a growing population becoming interested in RV travel. While dealers once relied on the baby boomer generation retiring to boost sales, they are now also looking at a younger generation of owners. RVIA conducted a study of RV owners and non-RV owners to find out what would motivate a new or current buyer to purchase a new RV or fifth wheel. The results were not all that surprising:

•    RVers save 27 to 61 percent on a typical family vacation (73 percent)
•    Couples who RV develop stronger bonds with each other (68 percent)
•    RVing allows you to be more physically active (67 percent)
•    RVing provides an escape from everyday pressure and stress (65 percent)
•    Kids who travel with their families by RV receive educational benefits (58 percent)
•    Traveling by RV reduces exposure to illnesses and other health risks (56 percent)

If you’re in the market for an RV, buying a new one has its benefits.  Still, if you’ve never considered buying a used travel trailer, you just might want to reconsider.  You can find everything you could possibly want in a motorhome—including upgrades and extravagant luxuries—for a fraction of the price of a new RV.

In what condition are your used RVs?

This is the question we’re most frequently asked, but what people really want to know is whether they can get a used RV that looks brand new.

Many times, we get people wanting us to sell their RV on consignment. In other words, they want us to sell it for them but they don’t want to sell it to us. All the used travel trailers we sell are in good condition, but some we sell are in showroom condition.

A new 2010 travel trailer will cost between 25-35 thousand dollars. However, a used 2008 travel trailer will cost between 15-25 thousand dollars. That means you will probably save around $10,000.

Travel trailers are no different from anything else. When you get a new trailer, little things are bound to go wrong. How to Tailgate in Your Class A Motorhome

You finally did it! You went out and bought your first RV. It may be a used travel trailer or it may be a brand new Class A motohome. Whatever you bought, you are ready to tailgate. Now this may sound odd to some people but you are both a sports fan and a rabid RVer. Therefore, you are ready to hit the parking lots.

Tailgating Tips
Whether you are tailgating a professional sporting team or a college, the parking lot is there and you are ready to fire up the grill. However, there is an art to tailgating. There is even a tailgating commissioner. Still if you want to tailgate like the professionals, you will need the following.

What to Bring

  • You are going to need food and lots of it.
    • Hamburgers
    • Hot Dogs
    • Brats
    • If it grills, BRING IT
  • You are going to need drinks.
    • Beer, beer and more beer
    • Plenty of Soda
    • Plenty of Water

What to Wear

  • Tailgating is about supporting the team. Show your team colors.
  • Drinking alcohol gives a false sense of warmth. Bring a coat.

The Gizmos of Tailgating

  • The RV – The bigger the RV, the better. Class A motorhomes are perfect for storing all kinds of things in the fridge. If you have a smaller RV, then don’t forget the coolers.
  • The Grill – Bigger is better for grills as well. You want everyone to smell what you’re cooking.
  • Tarps – You have to keep mark of your territory and nothing says my space like tarps and folding chairs.

When you take your Class A motorhome out tailgating, you want to be the envy of the park. If people are walking by wishing they were with you, then you did something right.

Searching to the classifieds for travel trailers for sale can be a royal pain. You weed through countless ads and select a few that sound promising. One even includes a photo, so you think that it just might work out.
